Game Rules

Players in the Stradamus game are competing against other players in the Stradamus game, using their knowledge of the sporting events (football, baseball, ice hockey, car racing, soccer and  many others) as well as other real life events (for example, the movie industry).  The competition is centered on answering questions about the events (mostly, in a statistical format) which are going to take place within the playing week (usually within 24 hours) of the particular event or game beginning.  Rarely, will the questions be about events that have already taken place in the past, in which case the question becomes a simple trivia question.

The Stradamus game is only for fun, it does not carry gambling characteristics – see Disclaimer page for more details.

1. REGISTRATION

1.1. The Stradamus website game is open to: (a) Registered Users; (b) legal residents of one (1) of the fifty (50) United States, Washington DC and Canada (excluding Quebec) (for purposes of clarity, Puerto Rico is expressly excluded); and (c) at you must be at least eighteen (18) years of age or age of majority at the date of registration in the Contest.

1.2. Each player is allowed to have only one account.  Breaking this or any other rule will be followed up with the suspension of the player from the Stradamus administration, either temporarily or permanently (the decision will be based on an individual case basis).

1.3. Players who are located outside of the territory mentioned above are not eligible to receive any prizes given away by Stradamus and also can be suspended from the game completely.

1.4. Players, who do not provide true information about their location and/or their legal age, will be suspended from the game.  The suspended players lose all rights or privileges for prizes won.

2. CREDITS. DEFINITION of CREDITS in STRADAMUS

2.1. To play the Stradamus game, you need credits.  Each question at any time in any category requires 1 credit to submit an answer.

2.2. To be clear, there is a big difference between the definition “credit” and the definition “point” on the Stradamus website.   Players buy Credits to play the game; each question answered and submitted by you requires one credit.  Without credits, players cannot answer questions, and submit their answers and therefore possibly win the game.  The word “Point” is specified as a winning point for all correct answers players provide.  Each correct answer gets you one (1) point.  Therefore, players cannot buy points; they earn them and get rewarded for each correct answer.   Players win based on the highest amount of points for the current week within one of the categories.

2.3. Cost of credits

  • 20 credits - $10.00
  • 60 credits - $27.00
  • 100 credits - $40.00
  • 200 credits - $64.00
  • 400 credits - $100.00

There are absolutely NO refunds on purchased credits for any reason.

The cost of credits can be changed by the Stradamus administration at any time without any advance notice.

2.4. Credits do not have an expiration date.  Once a player acquires credits, they will stay in player’s account forever.

2.5. Credits are not transferrable for any reason.  Only the player who acquired the credits can use those credits to answer the questions in the game.

3. PLAYING THE GAME

3.1. The game starts fresh every Tuesday at 9pm Pacific Time and ends the following Tuesday at 2pm Pacific Time.  This period is called from now on, “playing week”.  The “playing week” timeline can be extended in case of a tie between two or more players.  See section 4.5 for further reference.

3.2. Every week, each separate category will have 15 questions, no more no less.  In case of a tie between two or more players there will be additional questions, as many as necessary to define a sole winner.  See section 4.5 for further reference.

3.3. Fifteen (15) questions within each category will be spread out unequally throughout the playing week by the decision of Stradamus administration.

3.4. Questions can be of two (2) different formats, either a DIRECT question where players have to type in an answer themselves, and a MULTIPLE CHOICE question, where players will need to choose the correct answer from, usually five (5) options provided for them.

3.5. Each question will be available to players no later than 9pm Pacific Time of each day when the questions are asked.  Some days there may not be any questions within one or more of the categories.

3.6. Each question will have a deadline to submit the answer too, the time is 4pm Pacific Time the following day from when the question was asked.  Therefore each player will have at least 19 consecutive hours to answer the provided question.

3.7. There is no way to submit answers for the questions that have passed their deadline of 4pm the following day of the day when the question was asked.

3.8. You can choose how many questions you answer, and when you answer questions; it is completely up to you.  Skipping questions – accidently or on purpose – does not affect in any way your eligibility to keep playing the game.

3.9. There is no limit to how many categories each player can play in.  It is absolutely up to each player.

3.10. Submitted answers (after you click the button “Submit”) cannot be reversed or changed in any way.  They will count as your official answer and you cannot answer the same question again.

3.11. Each submitted correct answer will earn the player 1 point (see 2.2.section about the definition of “point”) within the category the questions was asked in.

3.12. Points for correct answers are awarded automatically to every player no later than the end of the day following the day when the given question passed its deadline at 4pm PT.

3.13. All players will be able to see all correct answers to every asked question on the “Answers page” in logged in area of the website.  Also every player will be able to see all answers they provided and compare them with the right answers on the “View Your Answers” page in the logged in location of the website.

4. DEFINING THE WINNER/S OF THE GAME

4.1. The winner is defined every week as long as the game has at least one participant with at least one winning point that week.  There are no factors affecting that, including but not limited to the amount of the active and/or inactive players that week.

4.2. At the end of each week, specifically every Tuesday at 2pm Pacific Time, the player who has the most points within one category, and more than any other player in any other separate category, wins for the week.   It does not matter if a player plays only one category or more categories that week, the highest amount of points within one category will count as the winning points over all categories.   Point cannot be combined from different or multiple categories.

4.3. Each player can follow their points throughout the playing week at the “View Your Points” page in the logged in area of the website.

4.4. After the playing week is over, all points go back to zero, and then a new count starts over in the new playing week.

4.5. In case of a tie in points between two or more players, Stradamus will provide additional questions to all players who have tied.   The additional questions will not cost the players any more credits, as the administration will reward each player additional free credits equaling the amount of additional questions asked.   Additional questions will take place on Wednesday (technically from 9pm on Tuesday until 4pm on Wednesday) of the same week (very next day following the Tuesday when the tie is identified), and whoever gets more points on the additional questions, will be the winner for that week.  There can be only one winner every week at this time, but Stradamus reserves the right to expand the amount of the winners in the future giving an advance notice to all players.

4.6. Players who do not answer additional questions for any reasons get no additional points and lose the challenge that week unless other players also get no points on additional questions.

4.7. In case of no players breaking the tie on additional questions provided first day, the additional questions continue on a daily basis until a winner is identified.

5. RECEIVING the PRIZE

5.1. We will contact the winner the same day the prize is won, using the contact information the winner provided Stradamus on the registration page.  Depending on the type of the prize (its size, weight etc.), physical location of the delivery, and personal preferences of the winner, Stradamus can use a variety of ways to get the prize to the winner.  However, Stradamus’ goal is to get the prize in the winner’s hands personally, face-to-face, sometimes with a special event planned if time permits, a celebration party and/or media coverage.  The winner cannot refuse personal delivery of the prize, but has a right to refuse the media presence at the prize receiving ceremony.

5.2. Stradamus will attempt to contact the winner on a consistent basis for up to 30 days following the day the winner is identified.  Stradamus  will make every reasonable attempt possible to get the prize into the winner’s hands, but if for some unforeseen reason, the winner does not respond to our attempts to contact him/her through phone, e-mail and mail during 30 calendar days, the winner forfeits his/her right to receive the prize.

5.3. The prize is not transferrable to any other person and the player who wins the prize must receive the prize.

6. SUSPENSION AND RULES CHANGE

6.1. A player’s membership to the Stradamus game will be suspended either temporarily or permanently.  By breaking any of the rules, cheating and/or attempt to cheat, disrespect expressed openly towards Stradamus administration or other players and other reasons deemed by the administration, are some of the reasons for suspension.

6.2. Each suspension decision will be made by the Stradamus administration on an individual case basis.

6.3. Suspended player loses all rights for any prizes won, any special offers or promotions and any other benefit that comes with the Stradamus membership.

6.4. If at the moment of suspension, the suspended player had any playing credits left, he will get a refund (check by mail) at the rate of $0.25 per credit (as it is the lowest possible rate to buy credits).

6.5. The suspended player can request to reinstate their account by sending an e-mail to the Stradamus administration via: support@stradamus.com and the administration will make a decision based on an individual case, considering specific reasons for the original suspension, and if those reasons were corrected or eliminated.

6.6. A player can  also lose their account, if both of these conditions apply:

  • The player is not active (does not log in into his/her account) for 12 consecutive months.
  • Does not have at least 1 credit left in his/her account during this time.

Any special promotions and/gifts offered to the player by Stradamus will be lost with the account.

Players who do not buy credits and/or do not participate in the game, but log in into their account will NOT lose their account.

6.7. Any player who has lost their account due to the reasons explained in section 6.6 can register all over again at any time.  However, any promotions/gifts lost in their previous account will not be restored.

6.8. The Stradamus administration reserves the right to change any and all game rules at any time.
